Flooding Counts

Because local knowledge holds water.

Flooding, poor drainage, and surface water are increasing problems across our area, and development on greenbelt land could make things worse.

We’re collecting local evidence of flood risk, blocked drains, pooling water, and drainage problems in Chapeltown, Ecclesfield and Grenoside. If you’ve seen or experienced anything like this, it Counts.

Share what you’ve seen. Your local insight matters.

📝 How to Take Part in Flooding Counts

  • Choose a location

Think about places in Chapeltown, Ecclesfield or Grenoside where you’ve seen flooding, standing water, or drainage problems. This could include roads, paths, gardens, fields, streams, your home, or anywhere surface water collects.

  • Submit your results using the online form
You’ll find a link to the form below.

  • Repeat as often as you can, and you can submit multiple forms
The more data we collect, the stronger our case will be.

  • Be honest and accurate
Record what you see to the best of your ability. Please don’t guess or exaggerate; this data could be used in formal planning responses.

  • Add any useful notes

You can include anything else that helps: how often flooding happens, whether it’s worsened over time, nearby drains or ditches, or how it affects access or property.
