📝 How to Take Part in Wildlife Counts
Our local greenbelt is home to a wide variety of plants and animals. If you spot wildlife or evidence of habitats, let us know.
This information helps us challenge assumptions about the land being "unused" or "low value".
Here’s how to get started:
-
Choose a location
Pick a spot where you can safely observe wildlife in Chapeltown, Ecclesfield or Grenoside. Record (and where possible) take photos of the wildlife you can see in their natural habitat. -
Submit your results using the online form
You’ll find a link to the form below. Please complete one form per hour counted. -
Repeat as often as you can, and you can submit multiple forms
The more data we collect, the stronger our case will be. -
Be honest and accurate
Record what you see to the best of your ability. Please don’t guess or exaggerate; this data could be used in formal planning responses. -
Add any useful notes
You can include comments about the time of day, weather, nearby disturbances (like building work or dog walkers), or anything else that might explain or affect the wildlife you observed.
