📝 How to Take Part in Trees & Plants Counts
Our greenbelt is home to hundreds of trees, hedgerows, and areas of planting that provide shelter, habitat, character, and clean air. Yet many of these are under-documented – and at risk.
This form helps us build a community map of valued trees and planting. Whether it’s a much-loved woodland, a quiet hedgerow where birds nest, or just a beautiful oak you pass every day – if it matters to you, it Counts.
Please share what you’ve seen.
Here’s how to get started:
-
Choose a location
Pick a spot where you can safely observe trees and plantation in Chapeltown, Ecclesfield or Grenoside. Record (and where possible) take photos of the trees and plants you can see. -
Submit your results using the online form
You’ll find a link to the form below. -
Repeat as often as you can, and you can submit multiple forms
The more data we collect, the stronger our case will be. -
Be honest and accurate
Record what you see to the best of your ability. Please don’t guess or exaggerate; this data could be used in formal planning responses. -
Add any useful notes
You can include comments about recent changes (like tree felling or new planting), signs of damage or disease, nearby development, seasonal changes, or anything else that helps us understand the condition or value of the trees and planting you observed.
