This week's update:

We have had a very busy (and productive!) week this week. We have continued to leaflet across Chapeltown, Ecclesfield and Grenoside and would like to thank all our volunteers who have helped with this. Whether you have organised leafleteers, delivered leaflets, or designed/printed leaflets we are incredibly grateful.


We are aware that there have been some issues with the QR codes on the Grenoside and Ecclesfield leaflets. These issues have now been resolved.


The end of the consultation process is only two weeks away. If you haven't started writing your letter yet, please do so. If you need any guidance please come along to one of our drop in sessions. Dates and locations of these sessions can be found further down this newsletter.



Peaceful Protest March - Saturday 28th June

Our peaceful protest march will be happening this Saturday!

There are two marches:

  1. Starting in Grenoside, through Ecclesfield and into St. Mary's Churchyard.

  2. Starting in Chapeltown and walking to St. Mary's Churchyard.

We would strongly encourage anyone who will be joining the march to make sure that they have read all of the information on the linked page above. This includes information on how to keep safe and our risk assessment.


Please wear green to show solidarity and support for our green spaces. This helps us to make a visual statement.

Also use the hashtag #saveCEGgreenbelt if you post the march on social media.


How you can get involved

We'd like to start pulling together an picture of how congested our roads currently are.

If you'd be able to do a daily traffic count, over a 7 day period, please see our website for more information:



This week's drop-ins


  • Whitley Hall Cricket Club Clubhouse - Thursday 3rd July 5.30pm - 7.30pm (this will be the final session)

  • Grenoside Reading Room - Monday 30th June 10am - 11.30am

  • Chapeltown Library - Monday 30th June 1pm - 3pm

  • Chapeltown Library - Wednesday 2nd July 1pm - 3pm



Fundraising:

We are awaiting our bank account, and will link this with our fundraising page. Please be aware that we have a plan in place for when the fundraising page is live, and that we are not being disadvantaged as a community despite the delay.
